Inspired by traditional flora, we designed and developed our own Peony print pattern in our much loved &SONS style. Once a forgotten relic of mid-century menswear, the camp collared floral short has become a summer staple and with the success of our existing Club Shirt range, we had to indulge.
This fabric is printed with a discharge print which sinks into the surface of the fabric giving a soft hand-feel, that’s ideal for staying cool and comfortable. Let loose with the styling and wear with our Newman or Chino Shorts or pare back with our Brandon Denim Jeans, White Boxer T-Shirt and finish with the Lucky sixpence chain.

Floral prints are believed to have originated in the East and were fashion statements during the Tang dynasty period in 618 –907 AD. They then travelled to the west from the Orient and Asia. The first traders from the East brought beautiful silks printed with exotic flower designs and sold them at very high prices.
They grew in popularity in the West in the 19th century, when flower prints from China and Japan thronged the Western fashion scene. By this time, manufacturers began to copy these flora fabrics and cheaper versions were made available to the public.
The Cuban collar shirt...
For us, the 1950s was the epitome of classic, timeless styles when the world was introduced to high waisted trousers, sports jackets and the iconic bowling shirt. Leaving the workplace behind, men in the 50’s wanted a new look when they returned home. Grey, 3-piece suits were hung up and replaced with vibrant, comfortable leisurewear with sharp, crisp lines. The bowling shirt could be worn open or dressed with a pair of smart trousers and came in new and exciting colours and patterns, including Hawaiian prints.
Style Tip: For us, the classic short sleeve shirt looked its best as part of the Rockabilly style. Complete with our Rocker 14oz Solid Black Selvedge Denim Jean, a crisp white Tee and the signature quiff
